An enchanting Hänsel und Gretel at Garsington Opera
Garsington’s outstanding and insightful production, directed by Olivia Fuchs, proves that Hänsel und Gretel is much more than a fairy-tale – it is a universal story of the transitions we undergo from innocence to experience. 

Fuchs and Turner pull off a lovely trick as the action moves into the forest, with the five dancer ‘angels’ who signpost the scene-changes morphing into animals and dolls, while the Sandman (Rhiannon Llewellyn) comes on as Dracula.
